Eighteen year old Momchil Dimitrov is the new Bulgarian champion in 1:10 Electric Touring. He won the last two of three rounds of the Bulgarian Championship.
In the first round â“ held in Mezdra â“ the weather was very changeable, sometimes with rain and sun simultaneously. In this round, Momchil was unable to find the correct set-up for the changing weather and so he started and finished in 4th place. Nevertheless, the Top 3 was held all by XRAY drivers!

In the second round â“ held in Ruse â“ the young driverâ™s XRAY T3 was well balanced since the practice, which allowed him to leave all his opponents behind and take TQ right away from Q1. The next day he won the first two finals, lapping other drivers by at least one lap. The youth also made the fastest lap on the track â“ 12.418sec.

For the third round â“ held in Levski â“ the youngsterâ™s biggest opponent was Miroslav Rusev who was the 2nd place driver of the first round. During practice the T3 was handling really well, which gave him a good feeling for the race. On qualification day the temperature was very high right from the morning â“ reaching 30°. Momchil knew he had to make a good Q1 while the asphalt was still not overly hot. Thatâ™s exactly what he did â“ driving clean from start-to-finish and winning TQ again in round 1. Until the end of the day, none of his opponents were able to get close to his achievement.
On the day of the finals, Momchil Dimitrov won the first final, leading from start-to-finish. In the second final, the teenager had bad luck when he was involved in a crash which took him out. The third round went well without surprises; Dimitrov took good advance about the start and didn't make any mistakes. He finishing 1st. With this he won the race as well as the championship. Once again the teenager got the best lap time â“ 14.056s.

In the general classification, 7 out of the Top 10 drivers in the Bulgarian championship were driving XRAY.
In 1:10 Electric Team (2 finals, 24 minutes each; up to 3 drivers per team) the forecast for the season was a strong competition between two teams : Momchil Dimitrov(18)-Strahil Dimitrov(15) and Svilen Manev(31)-Todor Tomov(37). All of these drivers are friends and clubmates. Even more, T. Tomov and S. Manev were mentors of the young drivers when they were beginners.
In the first round of the championship, the âśold menâť took a 1 lap advantage and finished 1st. The teenagers took 2nd place.
In the second round â“ held in Ruse â“ Dimitrovâ™s brothers were 1st, lapping the team of Manev-Tomov by 4 laps. After this, both teams had an equal possibility of winning the title : one 1st place and one 2nd place. fThe battle for the win would be in the last round.
In the last round â“ held in Levski â“ Momchil Dimitrov and Strahil Dimitrov drove fast and smooth, leaving no chances for their opponents. They finishing 3 laps ahead of the 2nd place team (Manev-Tomov). They won the race as well as the championship.
